In fact, our team has over 100 years of combined furniture sales experience in small-town stores. We are expanding the accommodating, friendly culture of a local business to a national level by always putting the customer’s interests first. It is important to find the right products for your home, and it’s our job to make that process as easy and affordable as possible.

Our Story:The Stevens family has worked in the furniture business for four generations, owning three stores, in two states, with one goal: selling
the best furniture for less than anywhere else. During a time where everything seems to be moving into a digital marketplace, brick and
mortar stores have found this a more difficult goal to achieve than ever. Rather than facing just regional competition, we now have to compete on a national level.
Peter Stevens, a third generation furniture store owner, sees this occurring more and more every day. Fortunately for furniture stores, the difficulty of shipping a 200 pound couch across the country in two days
is a bit of a shield against e-commerce competition; certain products,
however, have seen a significant decline in brick and mortar stores. For Peter’s store: rugs. He already had some rugs listed on his store’s website, but only enough to serve as a small catalog for local customers. His son that works with him, Luke Stevens, suggested figuring out a way to display our store’s entire catalog. So, they embarked on creating a brand new rug website. Our promise of giving our local customers the most variety and best prices eventually became our promise to everyone. Rugzz.com now serves customers nationally, but all our motives are rooted in a family history of small stores.

About Surya Rugs

In 1976, a chance encounter in North India between a buyer from Federated Group (now Macy's) and Surya Tiwari led to the creation of Surya Rugs, which started out as a small supplier of hand-knotted rugs. Realizing that it was critical to have more direct contact with customers, Surya Tiwari established a division in the U.S. in 1986 and appointed his son, Satya, as president in 2006.

With the goal of becoming the go-to resource for coordinating, fashion forward home accessories, Satya has incrementally added new categories to Surya's initial rug offerings.
